Support and information
Family Support
Being a parent or carer is probably the biggest job you will ever do. Whilst it brings many rewards parenting can be challenging and from time to time all parents may need extra information and support. Sometimes coping with children can also be hard if you have personal difficulties or there are other issues affecting your family life.
Our family support and outreach team have lots of skills and experience working with families. Staff can talk to you on the phone, in your home, at the Centre or another place where you’d like to meet. They can also put you in touch with other services and organisations that might help. Your problem does not have to be a crisis – in fact it’s better if you contact us before it reaches that stage. Our support is flexible and planned with you so that it’s appropriate to your needs.
The activities and groups we run at the Centre provide an opportunity for you to meet other parents and carers. This can be a good way to share parenting experiences and ideas. Many parents have commented on how reassuring it can be talking to other parents.
